Press Room →December 2023 Froyo Shop Openings & Closings
December 2023 was a flurry of froyo activity. It seemed like new froyo shops were opening every day. We found 91 froyo shop openings in 21 countries December, compared to 62 openings in 19 countries in November 2023. In December 2022, we found 53 froyo shop openings in 22 countries. As you can see, the pace of froyo activity has increased, thanks to the new froyo shops in Asia.

New Froyo Trucks & Trailers Launched in 2023
It’s time to update our annual list of new mobile frozen yogurt businesses. We found thirteen new froyo trucks this year. In 2022, we found twenty new froyo trucks, trailers, and the world’s first froyo pontoon.
New Froyo Flavors and Trends of 2023
In 2023, new frozen yogurt flavors accounted for 61% of all new 2023 flavors (compared to 67% in 2022, 58% in 2021, and 50% in 2020). We’ve seen a shift towards offering more new froyo flavors and a shift towards dairy-based flavors at froyo shops.
November Froyo Shop Openings and Closings
We found 59 new froyo shops that opened in November, compared to 50 shops that opened in October. There were froyo shop openings in 18 countries, with the Philippines leading the way again, as they did in September and October, with 16 openings. Indonesia and Malaysia tied for second place, with seven openings a piece.

Froyo Scene in New Orleans
All the Pinkberry NOLA locations closed in 2022, leaving four froyo shops in New Orleans proper (and more in the suburbs). We found twenty closed froyo shops.
Frozen Solutions Provides Custom Cone Wrappers for the Ben & Jerry’s Inaugural Waffle Lotta Good Program
When Ben & Jerry’s launched their inaugural scoop shop program, Waffle Lotta Good, in October 2023, Frozen Solutions provided custom cone wrappers to differentiate the waffle cones and strengthen the branding for the program. For every waffle cone that fans purchased from a local scoop shop during the two-week program, Ben & Jerry’s donated $1 to Advancement Project. The program raised $100,000 for the civil rights organization, providing vital support for their work to promote racial justice in local communities.
