Our research found 25 places in Tunisia where you can get frozen yogurt in soft serve form. Most are gelaterie, dessert bars, or jwejem shops that added froyo to their menus. Only two can be considered primarily froyo shops, Yoli Frozen Yogurt and Elli D’Alfonso. We did not find any self-serve frozen yogurt shops. Many are relatively new, opening in the last 6 years. It is common for dessert shops to have multiple branches.
While it’s impossible to catalog every frozen yogurt shop past and present — the sheer number makes a complete history impractical — we can highlight the largest chains currently operating in the Philippines. These brands represent the core of today’s froyo landscape and illustrate how the category continues to evolve.

August was another strong month for frozen yogurt. We tracked 126 new places serving froyo in 31 countries, up from 107 openings in 30 countries in July. The United States once again had the most openings with 31, followed by Mexico with 19, and Japan with a surprising 11.

Most of the country’s current froyo shops are less than five years old, reflecting a wave of recent expansion driven by rising middle‑class demand, mall culture, and international brands entering the market.

July was another active month for frozen yogurt. We tracked 108 new places to get froyo in 31 countries, compared to 96 new froyo shops in 36 countries in June. As with previous months, we continued to monitor both brand‑new froyo shops and existing businesses adding frozen yogurt to their menus, a trend that remains especially strong in the United States.
Frozen yogurt is having a true comeback. From January through June 2026, we tracked 408 new froyo businesses worldwide—a 32% increase over the same period last year. The United States led every month, adding 102 new shops, meaning one in four new froyo businesses opened in the U.S.
IFYA membership also continues to grow, now reaching 3,500+ members in 137 countries, with shop owners, prospective owners, fans, and suppliers all represented.
There were two periods of growth for frozen yogurt in Portugal: the first, 2011 – 2015, and the second, 2023 – present. We found 54 froyo shops and trucks that are currently open and 16 that have permanently closed. Some of the froyo shops and trucks are open seasonally.
