Yole opens first branch in Thailand
December 2023 saw a flurry of froyo activity. It seemed like new froyo shops were opening every day. We found 91 froyo shop openings in 21 countries in December, compared to 62 openings in 19 countries in November 2023. In December 2022, we found 53 froyo shop openings in 22 countries. As you can see, the pace of froyo activity has increased, thanks to the new froyo shops in Asia.
Once again, the most openings occurred in the Philippines, 25, followed by Indonesia and Australia with 12 each. Llaollao had the most openings again, with 14, followed by Sour Sally with 7 in Indonesia, and Yogorino with 6 in the Philippines. Llaollao launched its first froyo truck and opened the 50th location in the Philippines in December.
Sadly, we also found four froyo shop closings, three of them in the United States.
