Funky Frozen Yogurt
March was a busy month for froyo, with 41 new froyo shops opening in 14 countries, compared to 27 openings in 13 countries in February and 38 openings in 17 countries in January.
Indonesia and Malaysia led the way with the most openings, tying with four. Indonesia also had the most froyo shop openings in February. Llaollao, the largest froyo chain in Europe and Asia, opened five new branches while Yole and J.CO opened three each. Viru Viru International Airport in Bolivia now has a Yogen Fruz.
Sadly, we found four froyo shop closings.

Beyond Fruit has closed its first location in VivoCity, Singapore. They posted the following message on Instagram: “To all our beloved customers: It is with a heavy heart for us to share this news with all of you. Beyond Fruit (VivoCity outlet) will be permanently closed as of 6th March 2023. Ever since the opening of our first Beyond Fruit outlet which stood up at one of Singapore’s most prominent locations – VivoCity, it is a tough and difficult choice to close down the very outlet that kick-started this brand. On this journey, we have learnt so many lessons which most of it came from all of your feedbacks, advices and perspectives. We have learnt how to be better and not to repeat the same mistakes. This road hasn’t been an easy one for us but the team in Beyond Fruit definitely loves what they do. Our goals and objectives have not been shifted from the original plan but with this decision of closure, it has made us even more determined to strive for better greatness. We would like to say a big THANK YOU to all of you and your everlasting support. The happiness on your faces whenever you consume our yogurt reminds us why we do what we do – Bringing smiles to people faces through simple healthy desserts from our love and passion for F&B. However, this is not a setback. Instead, it is a milestone that we are proud to have achieved. With all the mistakes that we have made, the experiences that we have gone through and the never-ending lessons of achieving what’s best for our customers and the team, we will be coming out stronger and better with new upcoming outlets opening this year in 2023.
