Summer is here and it’s traditionally the busiest season for froyo. There were fewer openings in June than in May (20 vs. 31), with the most occurring in the US (6 openings), followed by Indonesia with three. Franchises were responsible for most of the openings. Llaollao opened three new locations but also closed the sole location in Ecuador.

We’re sad to hear that Pinkberry’s Chicago closed after 10 years of swirling. The shop was in the River North neighborhood. Before Pinkberry took over the space, Berry Chill served froyo there.

sweetFrog in Hummelstown, PA closed on June 13. They posted the following on Facebook, “Very sad to announce that sweetFrog Hummelstown will be PERMANENTLY CLOSING its doors.
