July was another busy month for froyo shop openings. We found 53 froyo shop openings in 26 countries. In June, we found 42 froyo shop openings in 20 countries. The most openings occurred in the US, with eleven, followed by Malaysia with six and India with five. Congrats to Azerbaijan on the opening of the first froyo shop! Also, the first yogurt cubes shop opened in the US; YoYo and CoCo brought the trend from China to Seattle.
India’s Myfroyoland and Spain’s Smooy tied for the most new store openings, with three in July. Llaollao, the largest froyo chain in Europe and Asia, opened two new shops.
Sadly, we also found four froyo shop closings.
