We tracked 68 new businesses serving frozen yogurt across 25 countries, matching March’s 65 openings in 24 countries. The United States has the most openings with fifteen, followed by Indonesia with six, and Mexico with five. Four of the 66 new businesses were existing businesses that started offering soft serve froyo. Notably, three additional Van Leeuwen scoop shops started offering froyo.
There were fewer openings in the short month of February than in January. We found 43 new businesses serving froyo in 16 countries, compared to 49 new froyo businesses in 17 countries in January. The United States had the most openings again, with six, followed by The Philippines, Australia, and Mexico with five each.

We found 47 new businesses serving froyo in 20 countries in October, compared to 54 new froyo businesses in 25 countries in September. The United States had the most openings, with nine, followed by Australia with six, and the Philippines with five.
Froyo activity picked up in May, after slowing down in April. We found 58 new businesses in 22 countries serving froyo in May, compared to 45 new froyo businesses in 22 countries in April. The Philippines had the most openings again, with ten, followed by the United States with eight, and Australia with six.
In 2024, we found 680 new businesses that serve froyo in 55 countries. The most openings occurred in Asia, which accounted for 54% of the new openings, followed by North America with 21%, and Europe with 10%. Here’s the breakdown by country.
