April continued the strong momentum for froyo shop openings. We tracked 69 new businesses serving frozen yogurt across 25 countries, matching March’s 65 openings in 24 countries. The United States has the most openings with 17, followed by Indonesia with six, and Mexico with five. Four of the 66 new businesses were existing businesses that started offering soft serve froyo. Notably, three additional Van Leeuwen scoop shops started offering froyo.
Sour Sally and MYKA Greek had the most openings with three apiece. Llaollao opened two outlets. MYKA Greek opened its first shops in Colombia and France, while Yoajung opened its first outlet in Canada.
Sadly, we also found five froyo shop closings. Three of these mentioned moving to a new location.
