Reliant Foodservice held its annual product show at the Anaheim Hilton on August 10, 2019. Reliant Foodservice is a leading distributor of products for the frozen yogurt, juice and smoothie, and specialty coffee retailers on the West Coast. The product show featured 80 manufacturers.
In response to the increasing demand for healthy, transparent, and innovative new products, Reliant carries many new manufacturers and new products, including all-natural, non-GMO, organic, vegan, and gluten free products. Attendees enjoyed show specials, a complimentary lunch, and lots of samples.
The show included frozen yogurt and non-dairy frozen dessert mixes, soft serve machines, healthy drink vendors (e.g., kombucha, smoothies, juice, bottled water, coconut water, coffee, tea, alternative milks), healthy snacks, baked goods, granola, toppings, sauces, flavorings, ingredients, and packaging.
It’s always interesting to see new products. There were quite a few coconut based products, a CBD infused beverage from First Choice CBD, and a boba cooking machine.
Frozen Yogurt and Soft Serve
Soft serve mix suppliers were present at the Expo, including Dannon YoCream, Frozen Bean, Coconut Bliss, and Kent Precision Foods (distributors of Dole Soft Serve).
Dannon YoCream highlighted a few froyo recipes, including Blueberry Buzz, Hit the Beach, Nuts Over Bananas, and Charcoal Coconut Matcha. They also previewed several new products. Last year, they introduced their first non-dairy soft serve, Silk Almondmilk. This October, they’re adding a Chocolate Silk Almondmilk soft serve. Later this year, they plan to introduce their first light ice cream mixes, in Vanilla and Chocolate.
The Frozen Bean/Gelato Lab brought their new Sunkist soft serve, made with no artificial color, no artificial flavors and reduced sugar. It’s available in the following dairy flavors: Orange Vanilla, Lemon Vanilla and dairy-free sorbets: Cara Cara Orange, Meyer Lemon, Pineapple. These are powder mixes.
Coconut Bliss now offers an organic dairy-free soft serve that’s made with coconut milk. It’s gluten-free, soy-free, non-GMO, and cholesterol-free. There’s currently one flavor, vanilla, and they’re testing a chocolate version. Their vanilla soft serve was quite thick and creamy. It’s a liquid base that’s sold in its frozen form.
Get Bowl’d Acai Bowl Competition
Reliant held their annual acai bowl competition. Cyber Yogurt won last year’s competition. This year, a new champion emerged – Bearylicious of Upland, CA. Cyber Yogurt was the first runner up.
