Reliant Foodservice held its annual product show at the Anaheim Hilton on June 2, 2018. Based in Temecula, CA, Reliant Foodservice is a leading distributor of products for the frozen yogurt, juice and smoothie, and specialty coffee retailers on the West Coast. The product show featured 80 manufacturers.
In response to the increasing demand for healthy, transparent, and innovative new products, Reliant is proud to feature many new manufacturers and new products. Attendees enjoyed show specials, a complimentary lunch, and lots of samples.
The show included frozen yogurt mixes, soft serve machines, healthy drink vendors (e.g., kombucha, smoothies, juice, bottled water, coconut water, coffee, tea, alternative milks), healthy snacks, baked goods, toppings, sauces, flavorings, ingredients, and packaging. We saw some familiar faces from past shows, including the Southwest Traders Product Show, but there were many new faces, especially in the beverage and snack categories.
Some of the new products carried by Reliant included the world’s first organic minute mug cake mixes from Foodstirs, Viana veggie snack sausages made with non-GMO soybeans, and Lavva, the first plant-based yogurt made with pili nuts. Foodstirs Celebration Confetti cake mix is currently carried at Starbucks. Lavva is carried by Whole Foods.
Frozen Yogurt and Soft Serve
Mix suppliers were present at the Expo, including Dannon YoCream, Frozen Bean, PreGel (at the Innovative Food Systems booth), and Kent Precision Foods (distributors for Frostline and Dole Soft Serve).
Dannon YoCream brought new flavors, including Stok Cold Brew Coffee and their first non-dairy soft serve, Silk Almondmilk. Silk Almondmilk soft serve tastes like almond milk and it’s creamy and less sweet. Dannon partnered with Silk, the top plant-based beverage brand.
The Frozen Bean/Gelato Lab brought innovative and fun flavors, including two blue colored Yogilato flavors, Unicorn and Cookie Monster. Their newest Yogilato flavors, which they brought to the show, were Earl Grey and Black Sesame Vanilla Bean. Yogilato combines gelato and yogurt and it does have live and active cultures.
Acai Bowl Competition
Reliant held their second annual acai bowl competition. SunLife Organics won last year. This year El Monte’s Cyber Yogurt took home the first place trophy. Reliant carries acai from Frooty Acai, Makai Fruits, and Sambazon.
