Reliant Foodservice, Southern California’s one-stop shop for coffee shops, froyo shops, and smoothie/juice bars, held its annual product show at the Anaheim Hilton Hotel on August 5. This year’s theme was The American Dream. There were over 70 exhibiting manufacturers, show specials, complimentary lunch, a raffle, and the Money Booth where you go in and grab coupons.
Reliant Foodservice is your source for organic, vegan, gluten-free, non-GMO, and all-natural products. The show included frozen yogurt and non-dairy frozen dessert mixes, acai, ice cream, beverages (e.g., slushes, kombucha, smoothies, juice, bottled water, coffee, tea, yerba mate, alternative milk), healthy snacks, chocolate, baked goods, granola, toppings, sauces, flavorings, cones, ingredients, and packaging. Exhibitors included Dannon YoCream, TR Toppers, Frozen Bean, Dole, Oatly, Ghirardelli, Dr. Smoothie, Torani, and Monin.
We saw more slushy drinks, acai, pitaya, and chocolate companies.
Frozen Yogurt and Soft Serve
Soft serve mix suppliers present at the Expo included Dannon YoCream, Frozen Bean, Oatly, and Dole Soft Serve.
Dannon YoCream’s frozen yogurt is made with real yogurt and live and active cultures. Their new flavors are lowfat Cinnamon Honey frozen yogurt and lowfat Salted Caramel Pretzel frozen yogurt. Their mixes are available only in frozen liquid form because the live and active cultures cannot survive in powdered form.
Dole soft serve is vegan, dairy-free, gluten-free, lactose-free, and cholesterol-free. They’ve created recipes for each of their flavors.
The Frozen Bean brought their Taro and Horchata soft serve served two ways: as soft serve and as frappes. Customers can add milk or water to the mix to get different textures and different products (soft serve, gelato, or frappes). They shared a book of ice cream & gelato recipes.
Oatly Vanilla soft serve, made with Oatly oat milk, is a creamy vegan soft serve that’s been served by Menchie’s and 16 Handles.
