NRA Show Recap: Swirl of Excellence Frozen Yogurt Competition

This year the NRA Show featured the inaugural “Swirl of Excellence” Frozen Yogurt Competition sponsored by Revel Systems. The competition was designed to recognize the best frozen yogurt at the NRA Show 2014. Four frozen yogurt experts sampled two flavors from participating vendors: original/natural/plain tart and vanilla.

Each frozen yogurt flavor was rated on five attributes: Overall taste, aftertaste, natural/true to flavor, flavorful, and texture.

The Swirl of Excellence trophy was presented to the frozen yogurt mix vendor with the highest overall score for both flavors. Montebianco, an Italian company, won the Swirl of Excellence trophy. The experts enjoyed the real yogurt flavor of their frozen yogurt. Their vanilla frozen yogurt has a tart base and that natural tanginess from yogurt. Their plain frozen yogurt had a clean, refreshing, naturally tangy quality. We were honored to meet the man behind the frozen yogurt recipe, Paolo Personeni, Corporate Gelato/Frozen Yogurt Chef.
