With June and July as the traditionally busiest months for froyo, we weren’t surprised to find more froyo shop openings, 73, in May compared to 46 in April. These 73 froyo shop openings occurred in twenty-four countries.
The Philippines continued to lead in froyo shop openings, with nineteen in May, compared to fourteen in April. Second place once again went to the United States, with twelve, followed by South Korea with seven.
Yogurt World in South Korea had the most openings with six, followed by Chimmy in the Philippines with four. Llaollao opened two new shops in May. Yogurtland, Menchie’s, Pinkberry, Yogen Fruz, and 16 Handles opened new branches. Pinkberry opened its first branch in Libya.
Sadly, we also found three froyo shop closings, including 16 Handles and a Pinkberry location.
