Introducing Hydra Rinse, the Eco-Friendly, Labor Saving System for Soft Serve Machine Cleaning

Happy Earth Day 2018! We like to highlight ways that the frozen yogurt industry can be eco-friendlier every Earth Day. This year, we’d like to tell you about the new Hydra Rinse cleaning and sanitizing system that addresses a major pain point of froyo shops: the amount of time and effort it takes to clean soft serve machines. Not only is Hydra Rinse a time saver, but having your soft serve machines cleaner produces better tasting product, when combined with proper machine maintenance.

Main Benefits of Hydra Rinse

  • Reduces labor cost associated with manual processes by cutting the amount of time to clean machines by 50%
  • Consumes less than 10 U.S. gallons of water, representing a significant water savings greater than 56.6% compared to manual cleaning
  • Reduces the potential for user variation associated with manual cleaning that can lead to bacterial contamination of soft serve frozen yogurt and ice cream

What is Hydra Rinse?

Hydra Rinse is an environmentally-friendly, patented automated system to clean and sanitize soft serve machines in half the time it takes for manual cleaning. It not only saves time, it also saves water and leaves your machines cleaner.

Hydra Rinse saves time by removing three major steps from the cleaning process. It’s able to do this by:

  • Using new O-Rings, Gaskets and Seals that eliminate the use of most, if not all, of the food safe lubricant used in the food contact zone. Significantly reduced lubricant usage reduces cleaning time.
  • Providing upgraded components that allow operators to clean while keeping the freezer door attached and the internal components in place. The time savings is significant since the machine does not need to be fully disassembled.
  • Automatically mixing its cleaner and sanitizer solution to the correct concentration without need for buckets, packets and hand mixing anything. Automated solution delivery ensures correct concentrations and eliminates the need to manually prepare chemicals for the task.

Hydra Rinse leaves machines safer and cleaner, using less water by:

  • Reducing the amount of water required to properly clean a soft serve machine from 20-24 gallons of water to less than 10 gallons. The Pro-Control injects water directly into the machine, which is then discharged from the mix inlet holes in the back of the machine. The use of flow, pressure, and temperature allow Hydra Rinse to need less water compared to the typical manual cleaning method.
  • Hydra Rinse automated technology works exclusively with LEXX Cleaner and Sanitizer Concentrate. LEXX is a naturally derived solution; its main ingredient is citric acid. Unlike Chlorine or Quaternary Ammonium Chloride based chemicals, LEXX is not harmful to aquatic life. In addition, LEXX Cleaner and Sanitizer Concentrate is an approved Sanitizer in all 50 states and federally.

Which Soft Serve Machines Can Use Hydra Rinse?

Currently, the Hydra Rinse Cleaning and Sanitizing System is NSF listed for use on Taylor and Stoelting machines. http://info.nsf.org/Certified/Food/Listings.asp?Company=C0218822&Standard=006

Both Taylor Company and Stoelting Manufacturing have updated their manuals to include an approval for the Hydra Rinse system to be used as an alternative cleaning method.

In states like California where daily cleaning and mix disposal are mandated, Hydra Rinse users are approved to reduce their cleaning frequency from daily to every 3 days, with full machine disassembly to be performed every 15th day.

You can also read the customer reviews, like this one from Josh Miller:

“We own and operate a 24 hour Shell Gas Station and convenience store with several amenities, which means we keep busy. 3 years ago we added our own self-serve FroYo shop to part of our convenience store with 5 FroYo machines and it has been a huge success. The only drawback is the time it takes me to clean these machines.

When I first heard about the Hydra Rinse I knew i had to have it. It has been everything I thought it would be and MORE!! I save so much time in our cleaning process that I can now focus on the several other aspects of our business. It has easily cut my cleaning time in half if not more.

And guess what else… The machines seem cleaner than when i have to fully disassemble them and clean them by hand. We have gotten compliments about how much better our FroYo tastes than our local competition.
