IFYA’s Goals for 2018

We ended 2017 with our annual feature, The Year in Froyo: Key Froyo Events (and Trends) from 2017. We’d like to start this year by sharing some of the suggestions we received from the froyo shop owners. We’d also like to discuss what we can do to adopt the suggestions.

The suggestions come from the National Frozen Yogurt Shop Owners Survey. We included a question  about how we could better serve froyo shop owners.

Advice on the following topics: social media, marketing and events, offering other products that are easy to make, machine maintenance

Our article library has articles about most of these topics. Some of the articles were written by us or our IFYA frozen yogurt industry experts. Others were sourced from outside sources. We’ve read each article in our library and deemed it useful.

We will continue to add to our article library and publish original content. And, we welcome suggestions for article topics and contributing writers.

Local pricing

We don’t provide local pricing information, but this type of information is easily available. We encourage owners to visit their competitor shops to see what they’re charging, what they’re offering, how well the shop is run, etc. Also, do read online reviews for your shop and the local competition on Yelp, Google, Facebook, Foursquare, etc. Your goal should be to be better than your local competition.

Industry statistics and trends

We’ve been trying to provide this since our inception. We track frozen yogurt news for our followers. Our National Frozen Yogurt surveys for consumers and shop owners provide industry statistics that aren’t available elsewhere.

Vendor reviews

We’ve created a comprehensive online supplier directory. Vendors are provided a listing free of charge, with the option of creating an enhanced listing for greater visibility.

To make the directory even more useful for everyone, please take the time to share your experiences with the vendors you’ve used by writing an online review. Any registered user of the IFYA can write a review.

We need our community to help us by writing vendor reviews.

Networking opportunities (e.g., annual conference, owner forums)

We used to have online forums for frozen yogurt shop owners and fans. Because of the lack of activity, we discontinued the online forums. However, we still want to hear from you and facilitate networking opportunities. Shop owners are welcome to comment on our blog and social media accounts (Facebook, Instagram, Twitter).

Our goal is to eventually offer an annual conference.

Discounts on supplies

We’ve added many supplier discounts over the years. Please see our website for the list of current member discounts.

If you supply frozen yogurt shops and would like to offer a discount to IFYA members, please contact us at info@internationalfrozenyogurt.com.
