Happy National Frozen Yogurt Month! It’s the time of year that we like to recognize frozen yogurt shops for giving back. We know that many of you have raised funds and donated to worthy causes, sponsored non-profit cause related events, hosted toy drives and blood drives, offered free or discounted froyo to law enforcement, teachers, veterans, nurses, etc. We won’t be able to mention every shop that is deserving of recognition, but we appreciate every shop that has helped others. It’s been a tough year, too, so thank you!!!!

Here are a few examples of giving back that we wanted to highlight:

Aloha Yogurt (IG @alohayogurt) in Tempe, Arizona launched a campaign, Treat A Hero, to collect donations of froyo to first responders like the ER nurses at Tempe St. Luke’s Hospital. They also host Girl Scout cookie sales and make Girl Scout cookie froyo flavors. Of course, Girl Scout cookie toppings are available as well.

The owner of Polar Xpress in Ottumwa, Iowa (IG @polarxpressottumwa), Jeff Hendred, is also the principal of Wilson Elementary. In May 2021, Hendred was recognized by Representative Mariannette Miller-Meeks for his countless hours of service to the Ottumwa community. For example, he recently organized a trash day to pick up trash around the neighborhood.

Yo-chi (IG @iloveyochi) donated froyo to local Australian schools during Chi-Week in April 2021. They also introduced Co-Chi bowls, custom coconut bowls emblazoned with Yo-Chi’s branding. Sold in Yo-Chi stores, $5 of every Co-Chi purchase goes to the Jirrahlinga Koala and Wildlife Sanctuary in Barwon Heads. And Yo-chi raised over $1500 last August and in doing so, protected over 600 square miles of the Daintree Rainforest.

Yogurt Mill (IG @yogurtmillfroyo) continued to make Love Drops to schools, hospitals, firefighters, senior living centers, animal hospitals, and others in the Modesto, California area. Yogurt Mill sells Pup-Yo, froyo for dogs. Fifty-cents of every Pup-Yo sold is donated to a local animal shelter. And they sponsored farm animals at Dutch Hollow Farms.

Yogurtland (IG @yogurtlandcares) continued to donate froyo to frontline heroes at healthcare facilities, schools, firefighters, and more – reaching 200 love drops in February 2021. They also held the Frontline Hero contest this past April where people nominated frontline heroes. Winners received a 15-cup catering package for the frontline hero and their team. And their Yogurtland Cares non-profit supports organizations that assist women and children in need.
