Eco-Friendly Froyo Shops, the 2023 Edition

In recognition of Earth Day 2023, we’d like to recognize the efforts of a few frozen yogurt businesses that have shown their commitment to the environment. Some of the eco-friendly froyo shops on this year’s list have found new ways to be environmentally responsible.

Also, if we recognized your shop in the past, we likely left you off of this year’s post, unless there’s been a change (e.g., a new eco-friendly initiative).

We encourage all frozen yogurt shops to find ways to reduce waste, adopt eco-friendly packaging, use energy-efficient appliances, and avoid toxic cleaning supplies. For the shops that are doing so, thank you!

This year, they’re tackling waste by replacing their single-use drinks fridge with new water stations with free still and sparkling water. And they have reusable aluminum Yo-Chi bottles. Yo-Chi Impressive!

Yoga-urt has three Swirl of Honor member shops and they’re all California Certified Green Businesses. The Echo Park (Los Angeles, CA) and Glendale stores became certified in 2022, with Santa Monica following in 2023. We’ve recognized Yoga-urt’s eco-friendly efforts before because they’ve been eco-friendly since day one. Their soft-serve is plant-based and organic. They use compostable or recyclable paper goods and they even upcycle their almond pulp, the byproduct of making their own almond milk, into pie crusts and cookies.
