Creative Froyo Flavors, 2024 Edition

Mabele froyo, Marcel’s, South Africa

We love new froyo flavors, especially when they’re creative, and we love sharing creative froyo flavors. Every March, we’ll bring you the most creative new froyo flavors that we’ve come across since our last creative froyo flavors post. We’re particularly fond of flavors inspired by local and seasonal flavors. This year, we found flavors that we’ve never heard of before. The most creative was Mabele froyo from Marcel’s in South Africa.

Seven countries are represented on this list. The list is in alphabetical order.

Calamansi & Torch Ginger Flowers froyo, Tutti Frutti, Malaysia, (IG @tuttifrutti.my)

Tutti Frutti in Malaysia introduced Calamansi & Torch Ginger Flowers froyo last December. We’ve seen calamansi froyo before but not torch ginger flowers. Kentucky Cereal Milk froyo, Easy Breezy, Bay Area, CA, US (IG @easybreezy official)

Easy Breezy, with five locations in the San Francisco Bay Area, has come up with so many creative, new, from scratch, fresh froyo flavors over the years that we’ve lost count of them. Last October, they came up with another one: Kentucky Cereal Milk, a combination of bourbon and cereal. It’s non-alcoholic. Easy Breezy shops are all IFYA Swirl of Honor shops.

Mabele froyo, Marcel’s, South Africa (IG @marcels_za)

We think Mabele froyo is the most creative flavor on this list because we hadn’t heard of mabele before. Mabele froyo from Marcel’s in South Africa was introduced in September 2023. Every September, Marcel’s introduces new local froyo flavors. Mabele is a fermented sorghum product that’s served as a soft porridge.

Mango Matcha froyo, YOMG, Australia (IG @yomgburgers)

We’ve seen plenty of mango froyo and matcha froyo, but we haven’t seen a mango matcha froyo until YOMG introduced it last March. It still seems like an unusual combination to us because mangoes are so sweet and matcha can be bitter, but that doesn’t mean that it doesn’t work. YOMG currently has nine self-serve froyo locations in Australia. They also serve burgers, shakes, and fries.

Rose Bandung froyo, Scoop B, Indonesia (IG @scoopb.asia)

Tamarind Lime was introduced last March. It’s rare to see tamarind in froyo. We love that the current owner of Eb & Bean is continuing the tradition of creative froyo flavors. She took over Eb & Bean in late 2021.

Tim Tam Slam froyo, Hellenika Cultured Creamery, Seattle, WA, US (IG @1920apikeplace)

Tim Tam Slam is a new froyo flavor from Hellenika Cultured Creamery in Seattle, Washington. The flavor was inspired by Australia Day. Tim Tams, which turn 60 this year, are an Australian invention.
