We cover four more countries in part three of our series on international home-grown froyo chains. This post covers the largest home-grown froyo chains in France, Indonesia, Kuwait, and the Philippines.

France

Yogurt Factory was founded in France in 2011 and became the undisputed leader of the French frozen yogurt market when they acquired rival, Boon Frozen Yogurt, in late 2018. They currently have 33 locations on their website. The concept is full-service, with a distinctive red look, nonfat frozen yogurt, and unlimited toppings with each order.

Indonesia

Sour Sally opened its first store in Jakarta in 2008. It was the first to bring froyo to Indonesia. In 2015, the brand was rejuvenated with the launch of Black Sakura, the world’s first black frozen yogurt, new toppings made for Sour Sally, and a new look. It is a counter serve concept known for innovative, high quality products. Activated charcoal frozen yogurt became popular in other countries, but Sour Sally was the first to offer it.

Kuwait

Pick started out as a froyo shop called Pick Yo in 2010 but evolved into a healthy lifestyle eatery, adding snacks, sandwiches, drinks, and pancakes. Their frozen yogurt product, Pick Yo, is nonfat, healthy, all-natural, and produced by Pick. Pick currently has 10 counter-serve locations.

Philippines

The White Hat, founded in 2008, is the older home-grown froyo chain. It is known for its premium product; the frozen yogurt comes from Italy. There are currently 10 locations listed on the website.

BLK 513 was founded in 2015 and it was the first to offer black, activated-charcoal enhanced frozen yogurt in the country. The striking look of the product made it buzz-worthy. The frozen yogurt is made with US Greek yogurt and is all natural, low in calories and fat. There are currently nine locations in the Philippines.
