National Frozen Yogurt Month, Week & Day & Frozen Yogurt Trends

Froyo fans, Happy National Frozen Yogurt Month, Week and Day! TCBY started the tradition by sponsoring National Frozen Yogurt Month, National Frozen Yogurt Week (the first week of June) and National Frozen Yogurt Day (the first “Sundae/Sunday” in June) back in 1993.

Every June we take a look at frozen yogurt trends. Frozen yogurt interest over time is measured by the number of searches on the term frozen yogurt on Google. Interest peaked in June 2012 and has been gradually declining ever since. The decline is more pronounced in 2014 vs. 2013.

Interest continues to be the highest in the United States, followed by Greece, Canada, Australia and Hong Kong.

It’s interesting that the state where the most searches for frozen yogurt is now Massachusetts, followed by Washington and California.

For many years, including last year, Los Angeles was the leader in frozen yogurt search volume but it has been surpassed by Boston, San Diego and Seattle/Tacoma. Boston was #2 last year, followed by San Francisco, New York and Seattle.

What are people searching for? The most popular search terms are 1. frozen yogurt recipe, 2. frozen yogurt calories, and 3. frozen yogurt nutrition.
