Now that over five years have passed, cookie dough shops were revealed to be a fad. While edible cookie dough is still around, it’s found in supermarkets, online stores like Doughp and The Cookie Dough Café, and inside shops that don’t primarily specialize in edible cookie dough. Big players like Ben & Jerry’s and Toll House now sell edible cookie dough. Baked cookie shops are now trendy – led by Crumbl Cookies, which opened 700 stores in six years, but rivals like Cookie Plug, Milk Jar, Tiff’s Treats, Chip City, Levain Bakery, etc. The trendy cookies are bigger and thicker.
