Froyo Gives Back, the 2024 Edition

Every June, we like to recognize socially responsible frozen yogurt shops that give back to important causes and/or the community. Froyo is helping make a difference in the world.

We thank every froyo shop that helped their community by hosting fundraisers, donating to worthy causes, sponsoring cause-related events, and offering free or discounted froyo to law enforcement, healthcare workers, teachers, veterans, and more. We appreciate you!

Here are a few recent examples of froyo giving back.

Menchie’s raised $77,376 for the St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital in August 2023. The funds were raised through pin-up donations from Menchie’s guests. St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital treats children with cancer. Donations support cancer research and treatment. Families of patients are not billed for treatment, travel, housing, or food.

PS Froyo in Pagosa Springs, Colorado, contributed $75,000 to the Aspen House, a non-profit organization that seeks to build a residential facility for adults with developmental disabilities. PS Froyo provides financial support for the Aspen House through its operations. It also provides a learning opportunity for children in the special education program in middle school and high school and vocational support for adults with developmental disabilities.

Smooy raised €1275 for @juegaterapiaorg by selling Smooy water bottles. Juegaterapia Foundation is an NGO that donates video game consoles to hospitalized children and builds gardens in hospitals in Spain. Smooy is still raising

Truly’s of Wellesley, MA, created a special flavor for the Hunnewell PTO to celebrate the opening of the new Hunnewell School in Wellesley, MA. A portion of the proceeds for the sales of the flavor was be donated to the Hunnewell PTO

Yo-Chi of Australia celebrated Red Nose Day by matching the funds that guests donated at Yo-Chi locations. Red Nose Day raises funds to reduce the risk of Sudden Infant Death Syndrome and stillbirth, while also providing free support to families affected by the death of a child.

Yogurt Mill in Central California sponsored a Free Dog Adoption Day in January 2024. They raised $4,079 for the Stanislaus Animal Services Animal Services Agency, enough to cover the adoption fees of 40 dogs, including full vaccination and microchipping.

Yogurtland donated frozen yogurt to The Mustard Seed School in Sacramento, California. The Mustard Seed School is a free private school for children 3 – 15 years old who are currently experiencing homelessness. The school provides meals, snacks, and school supplies, while the Loaves & Fishes campus provides services to their parents.

YOMG Burgers in Australia raised $2,480 for Dare to Hope/Pancare Foundation, a nonprofit dedicated to fighting pancreatic cancer. The funds were raised from the Dare to Hope burgers and scarves purchased by guests and a top up donation from YOMG.
