February was another busy month for froyo shop openings, with new shops opening in twelve countries: Brazil, Brunei, Colombia, Ecuador, India, Indonesia, Israel, Malaysia, Mexico, Singapore, UAE, and US. Llaollao opened its first shop in Brunei. JCO and Greenfrost continued their steady expansion.

Chillz final day was February 28. “Downtown Greenville’s fro-yo destination! Chillz Frozen Yogurt offers self-serve frozen yogurt sold by the ounce, as well as specialty drinks, including bubble teas in a variety of flavors, with green or black tea. Chillz also offers a wide selection of “grand and go” lunch favorites, including hot dogs, breadsticks, and more.” The shop opened in 2016.

FroYo’s last day at the Frontenac location was February 21. The owners posted the following on Instagram, “Regrettably, we will be closing our Frontenac store after this weekend. Thank you for your support over the last 10 years. It has been our pleasure to serve you with a smile, but as you know COVID has been tough on restaurants of all shapes and sizes. Our stores are family owned and employ dozens of people, particularly young folks. We have had to make some tough decisions. Closing this store is one of them, but it will enable us to focus on more viable locations and keep as many local jobs as possible. Thank you again and please visit to say good bye! Yoasis Bowls announced its permanent closure on Facebook on February 6. The owners posted the following: “In 2014 we introduced the Original Acaí Bowl to our little island. It was pure and simple and a hit! Seven years later our menu evolved to offer 5 different variations of acai bowls, Pitaya bowls, and smoothies. Without the dedication of our hardworking staff over the years, we wouldn’t have been such a success! Sadly, we are closing the doors of this chapter of our lives, but look forward to OCNJ summers with our daughter! We are forever grateful for the loyal customers who supported our Yoasis family and for the many amazing people who worked their butts off every summer at Yoasis Beach Bowls! Memories to last a lifetime!”
