IFYA’s Swirl of HonorTM program is the first international quality seal program specifically for frozen yogurt shops. We set rigorous quality standards for frozen yogurt store operations and want to recognize stores that meet those standards. The IFYA believes in quality frozen yogurt, superior customer service, store cleanliness and environmentally friendly business practices. Frozen yogurt shops are rated on a scale of one to three Swirls. Stores must apply to be part of the Swirl of HonorTM program but we welcome nominations from fans. Swirl of HonorTM Recipients:

Stand out from the competition. Recipients have earned the right to proudly display the Swirl of HonorTM seal at their shop and online. Consumers who are looking for Swirl of HonorTM shops will be able to easily find these shops by using the IFYA Swirl of HonorTM online directory. As a Swirl of HonorTM shop, your shop can increase its visibility, encourage positive word of mouth and strengthen its reputation.

Receive special recognition from the IFYA. IFYA will recognize your shop’s birthday, news, and more in a special section of the website reserved just for our Swirl of HonorTM recipients.  Your shop might be profiled on our website and newsletter.

Receive advice on improving your shop. Want to score another swirl or two next year? When you apply for the Swirl of HonorTM program, you’ll receive detailed feedback on your assessment, including how to improve your score next year.

FAQs

How can my shop get a Swirl of HonorTM? 
It’s a simple process. Just fill out our online application and pay the application fee (or use your discount code). Once the application is received, the IFYA staff will review your application and reward 1 to 3 swirls based on how your total score. The typical turnaround time for an application is 2 weeks. We will let you know how many swirls your shop earned and your numerical score out of a possible 100 points. You’ll also receive feedback on the areas we assessed and learn how to improve your score. Once your application has been processed, look for your welcome packet in the mail.
How do you determine how many Swirls you’ll award a shop?
We created IFYA’s Swirl of HonorTM evaluation standards for frozen yogurt shop excellence to judge frozen yogurt shops on quality product, customer service, store cleanliness and environmental friendliness. Swirls are awarded based on the answers to a detailed application that covers the following areas and awards up to 100 total points:
  • Quality Product: We look for all natural frozen yogurt that contains high levels of live and active cultures, stored and served under ideal conditions
  • Customer Service:  We look for well-trained employees and adequate staffing levels
  • Store Cleanliness and Atmosphere: Quality frozen yogurt shops should be spotlessly clean and receive top health inspection scores. The atmosphere should be comfortable and appealing.
  • Eco-friendliness: We believe in recognizing businesses that make the effort to conserve energy and water, as well as use less toxic products.

The IFYA is unable to visit each shop to make assessments, so part of the Swirl of HonorTM program requires the pledge of our applicants to being honest when filling out the application. Honest answers support the usefulness of the Swirl of Honor program as a quality seal program. Also, the IFYA can provide helpful feedback to improve your shop when you provide honest answers on your application. The contents of your store’s application will remain confidential and will not be shared with anyone outside of the IFYA.

If I have a Swirl of HonorTM, do I need to reapply for the program? 
The Swirl of Honor is a yearly recognition program. Since conditions at frozen yogurt shops can change over time, they need to be reassessed by the IFYA every year.
Is there an application deadline?
No, you can apply to the Swirl of Honor program at any time. You’ll receive the current year’s Swirl of HonorTM window decal. The online benefits that you’ll receive will last for one year from the time your application was processed (e.g., listing in the Swirl of HonorTM online directory, being added to the birthday calendar, special recognition of your store’s news, etc.).
I own several frozen yogurt shops. Do I need to fill out an application for each shop? Yes. The Swirl of HonorTM is awarded based on the conditions at a specific store, so we do require a separate application for each frozen yogurt store location.
Who’s eligible for a Swirl of HonorTM? 
The Swirl of HonorTM program was created to recognize excellence in frozen yogurt at any shop that serves frozen yogurt. We welcome all shops to apply regardless of store type (e.g., kiosk, brick and mortar, mobile). The Swirl of Honor program is currently available in two dozen countries, listed below:
