It’s normally a slow time of year for froyo shop openings but we found 43 new openings in 18 countries in October. In September, we found 38 froyo shop openings in 14 countries. The most openings occurred in the US with eight (including a froyo trailer), followed by Mexico with seven.
Llaollao, Europe and Asia’s largest froyo chain, opened five new shops: 3 in Malaysia, 2 in the Philippines. You can now find Myfroyoland at Ahmedabad Airport in India.
Sadly, we also found 12 froyo shop closings. Mooch Froyo in Dublin, Ireland and Bohemian Rhapsody in Westfield, NJ were 10 years old. Yum Yum’s Chilly Delight in Potsdam, New York, closed after nine years in business. Yogi Castle in Arlington, VA was an eight-year old froyo shop.
