The headline story: Yoajung in South Korea retained the top spot as the world’s largest froyo chain. Adding 120 locations in 2025, Yoajung currently has 684 locations, mostly in South Korea. Yogen Fruz became the 2nd largest froyo chain in the world, followed by Llaollao.
Collectively, the top 10 froyo chains now operate approximately 2,821 locations, a 24% increase (554 shops) in 2025 compared to 2024. Notably, most of the froyo chains in our top 10 grew this year, something that we haven’t seen happen for many years.
Goyurt joined the top 10 list for the first time, while Yogorino fell out of the top 10.
Largest Froyo Chains by Location Count
- Yoajung: 684 locations (+120 locations vs. December 2024)
Yoajung’s Korean website lists 677 stores, but it only lists the stores in South Korea. It also has 1 store in Australia, 1 store in China, 3 stores in Hong Kong, 1 store in Singapore, and 1 store in the United States. The stores in Australia, China, Hong Kong, and Singapore opened this year.
- Yogen Fruz: 424 locations (+301 locations vs. December 2024)
It was easy to access the list of current Yogen Fruz locations on the website. For years, it was easy to access the Canadian locations but not the locations in other countries. It is now easy to find the locations outside of Canada on the website.
While Yogen Fruz’s website still claims to have over 1300 locations in more than 40 countries, the same website lists 424 locations in 12 countries. The countries with the most Yogen Fruz locations are the Dominican Republic with 213 locations, Canada with 71 locations, and Chile with 41 locations.
We also realized that our estimate of Yogen Fruz locations last year was inaccurate.
- Llaollao: 361 locations (+44 locations vs. December 2024)
Interestingly, Llaollao opened 44 branches in 2025, the same number it opened in 2024. There are 122 branches in Spain and 239 branches outside of Spain. Outside of Spain, it has the most branches in Malaysia with 82, followed by the Philippines with 74, and Singapore with 19. Llaollao’s website makes it easy to find all the locations. It even lists future locations.
- Menchie’s: 315 locations (-1 location vs. December 2024)
Menchie’s was the world’s largest froyo chain for years, but it has been getting smaller over the years. There are 289 locations in the US and 26 outside of the US. The states with the most Menchie’s locations are California with 76 stores, Texas with 44 stores, and Florida with 40 stores. The locations are all shown on a map on the Menchie’s website.

- Yogurtland: 207 locations (-13 locations vs. December 2024)
A Franchise Times article published in December 2025 says there are 210 locations. We found 207 locations. Yogurtland’s US website only lists the domestic locations. We found 189 locations in the United States, with the majority of 149 in California. Outside the US, Yogurtland has 1 location in Guam, 3 locations in Oman, 6 locations in Thailand, and 8 locations in the United Arab Emirates.
The renewed expansion comes after years of unit count declines. Yogurtland started 2019 with 269 domestic stores, and through 2024 closures continued. It now has 210 locations in Arizona, California, Colorado, Nevada, Texas, Utah and soon Idaho.
- Pinkberry: 201 locations (+10 locations vs. December 2024)
The Pinkberry World website has links to the websites of each country where Pinkberry has stores. We found 59 locations in the US and 142 locations outside of the US. Pinkberry opened its first branch in Austria this year. The countries with the most Pinkberry branches are the US with 59, UAE with 21, and Nigeria with 19. Pinkberry’s growth is coming from its presence outside of the US.
- Yogurt World: 200 locations (+39 locations vs. December 2024)
Yogurt World is a South Korean froyo franchise founded in 2021. The outlets are counter-serve, and the yogurt ice cream is made with Greek yogurt. This year, they introduced a low-sugar froyo with 80% less sugar. The Yogurt World website seems to claim that they have 200 locations.
- SweetFrog: 158 locations (not sure how many locations they had in December 2024)
While SweetFrog has claimed to have 250 locations for years, we counted 149 locations in the US. The SweetFrog website does not list the locations in the Dominican Republic. We believe that there are 9 locations in the Dominican Republic. The chain is shrinking.
- Goyurt 142 locations
Goyurt claimed to have over a hundred locations in 2024, so we suspect that they grew this year. All locations are in Colombia.
- TCBY: 129 locations (+6 locations vs. December 2024)
While TCBY’s website states that there are 350+ locations nationwide (in the United States), the same website only shows 129 locations worldwide. Most of the branches are in the United States.
Our Methodology
Our store location counts are based on the list of locations on the chain’s websites as of mid-December 2025. We also considered whether the information seemed current. If we could not determine the store location counts from the chain’s website or the website appeared outdated, we looked at recent press releases. However, we placed less confidence in location counts that were not obtained from the chain’s website with a list of current locations.
