Tips for Using Instagram

In 2024, Instagram remains a crucial platform for restaurant marketing. It’s our top recommended platform for frozen yogurt shops. Here are some tips to enhance your shop’s Instagram presence:

Optimize Your Profile: Ensure your Instagram profile is complete with a recognizable profile picture, a concise bio, and a link to your menu or website. It’s frustrating to see an account and have no idea where that frozen yogurt shop is located.

High-Quality Visuals: Post high-resolution photos and videos of your frozen yogurt (and other items), as well as behind-the-scenes content to engage your audience. It’s mind-boggling, but we’ve seen many froyo shop social media accounts that do not have one appealing frozen yogurt picture. Some even use stock photos of frozen yogurt or photos of froyo from other froyo shops.

Be Active: Quality of content matters more than quantity of content, but you also want to keep your accounts active. Talk about what your audience wants to hear. For example, your customers will want to know about new flavors and shop news.  Make sure that the content is current and timely. Try posting at least once a week. If your account seems inactive, someone is less likely to follow it.

Engage with Followers: Respond to comments and messages promptly, and encourage user-generated content by reposting customer photos with their permission. Don’t be afraid to pose questions to engage the audience.

Use Stories, Reels, and Carousels: Take advantage of Instagram Stories (photos and videos that disappear after 24 hours) and Reels (short videos up to 15 seconds in length) for time-sensitive promotions or to showcase longer-form content. Vary your content and use images and videos as well. Instagram Reels are favored by algorithms and have the highest engagement rate compared to photos and carousels. Carousels (a post with multiple videos or photos) generate the highest number of comments though. Reels have greater potential to get more views than Instagram Stories.

Leverage Hashtags: Use relevant hashtags to increase the discoverability of your posts. Research trending hashtags and create a few unique to your froyo shop. Instagram recommends using three to five hashtags per post.

Promote Special Offers: Share exclusive deals and specials with your Instagram followers to incentivize them to visit your froyo shop.

Collaborate with Influencers: Partner with local food bloggers and influencers to reach a wider audience and gain credibility.

Instagram Food Trends: Participate in Instagram food trends to create a buzz around your froyo shop and attract customers looking to try the latest culinary sensations.

By following these strategies, you can effectively use Instagram to promote your restaurant, engage with your audience, and ultimately drive more business in 2024. Looking for inspiration?
