Romantic Valentine’s Day Froyo Toppings

Certain foods are associated with romance and we think froyo is at the top of the list. In a survey from online dating site How About We, froyo was named the most popular first date treat in the US. Many people remember going on froyo dates and some couples even got engaged at froyo shops. People don’t want a heavy meal or dessert on Valentine’s Day, so froyo fits the bill perfectly.

Froyo shops can make the Valentine’s Day experience even more romantic with a Valentine’s Day toppings bar. Group your Valentine’s Day toppings together on your toppings bar and add a sign to make it look like a special toppings bar. Here are some ideas for your Valentine’s Day toppings bar:

  • Cakes and brownies: Think of heart-shaped cakes from Little Debbie, Valentine’s Ding Dongs, or red velvet cake pieces. You can also use a cookie cutter to make heart-shaped brownies and cakes. We’ve spotted two bite mini Valentine cupcakes at many stores.
  • Candies: For V-Day, pick conversation hearts, other heart-shaped candies, Hershey’s Kisses, and chocolate truffles. Some truffles are even pink, red, and covered in red, pink, and heart sprinkles.
  • Cereal: Cheerios has heart shapes for Valentine’s Day and Froot Loops has a special Sweethearts edition.
  • Cookies: Most grocery stores sell heart-shaped cookies this time of year. Mother’s Cookies has X’s and O’s cookies this year. There are also pink meringues and macarons.
  • Cotton candy: There’s something so whimsical and childlike about pink cotton candy.
  • Marshmallows: Jet-Puffed comes out with heart-shaped marshmallows for Valentine’s Day.
  • Popping boba: We’re currently obsessed with rose popping boba but other flavors like strawberry, pomegranate, cherry, and passion fruit would also be appropriate for Valentine’s Day
  • Pretzels: Pink yogurt covered pretzels are pretty and romantic.
  • Sprinkles: This time of year when you can find heart-shaped sprinkles, pink sprinkles, and red sprinkles
  • Strawberries: Some shops make hand-carved strawberry roses or chocolate-covered strawberries. Offer strawberry puree or syrup.

For the finishing touch, don’t forget to offer Maraschino cherries, hot fudge, honey, and whipped cream.
