Last year, we were lucky that National/International Frozen Yogurt Day took place before the onset of the coronavirus pandemic restrictions. This year, NFYD is still an important day but the celebrations will be more low-key because the pandemic is still far from over. For example, in Los Angeles, neither indoor dining is not permitted and serving your own froyo is a distant memory. Some froyo shops are still closed for the season while others have chosen to close due to government mandated lockdown orders.
While there’s still a lot of uncertainty and fear, there’s also a desire for good news. And the good news is that National/International Frozen Yogurt Day is almost here. While NFYD, aka Free Froyo Day is officially on February 6, some shops celebrate on other dates and even over multiple days. Many shops are offering special discounts and promotions to celebrate.
We’re excited to see froyo shops celebrating in Kenya, Nigeria, Guatemala, India, Italy, Belize, Canada, US, and Australia!
Be sure to show your favorite froyo shop some love on IFYD/NFYD (and afterwards, times are tough and they could use your support). If you’re concerned about safety, opt for delivery or takeout (some places offer curbside pickup and contactless ordering).
