We found 87 new froyo shops in 25 countries in June, compared to 61 new froyo shops in May. It’s the highest number of froyo shop openings we’ve seen since we started tracking openings and closings in fall 2020. The Philippines had the most openings, with eighteen, followed by the United States with sixteen.
Llaollao reached a milestone of 100 branches in Malaysia; they opened six new branches in June (in Malaysia and the Philippines). A new yogurt drink and froyo chain called Chimmy opened five branches in the Philippines in June.
Sadly, we also found four froyo shop closings.

They posted the following message on Facebook, “Dear valued customers, It is with a heavy heart that we announce the permanent closure of Menchie’s Frozen Yogurt store in Holland. Our last day of operation was June 11, 2023. We are writing this notification to express our deepest gratitude for your continuous support and loyalty over the past 6 years. We would like to take this opportunity to express our sincere appreciation for the incredible memories and moments we have shared with you. It has been an absolute pleasure serving our community and being a part of your lives. We are grateful for your unwavering support, enthusiasm, and the smiles we’ve witnessed each time you walked through our doors.
