Sadly, we are seeing that some of the temporary froyo shop closures due the pandemic are becoming permanent closures.  We recently learned that Yogurtland locations in South Florida have closed, possibly for good. When we checked the Yogurtland website, nine locations were marked as temporarily closed. The one in Hollywood is supposed to reopen on March 31.

Yogurtland locations in South Florida listed on the Yogurtland website as temporarily closed as of 3/5/2021:

  • Biscayne: 13274 Biscayne Blvd, Miami, FL 33181 US (marked as permanently closed by Yelp, opened in 2013)

The assets of Yogurtland Weston were auctioned off on March 8 by Lauro Auctioneers. Yet, the location is still listed on Yogurtland’s website as temporarily closed as of March 30, 2021. Yogurtland South Florida’s last Instagram post was on April 26, 2017 (IG @yogurtlandsfl). At the time, the account listed 6 locations: Coral Springs, Plantation, Weston, Pines, Hollywood, and Doral.

Yogurtland’s Doral location (9715 NW 41st St., Doral) opened in 2011 and closed in 2018.  The Pembroke Pines location (15820 Pines Blvd, Pembroke Pines) opened in 2010 and closed some time last year, possibly during the late summer. The last update from the business on Yelp was posted on June 27, 2020. It was the first Yogurtland in the area. There was a Yogurtland in Winter Park, FL (415 Orlando Ave. #103, Winter Park) that opened in 2010 and closed in March 2020, due to high rent. Yogurtland’s Largo location (10500 Ulmerton Rd, Largo, FL 33771) opened in 2013 and closed in 2020. Yogurtland Boca Raton (2240 NW 19 St, Boca Raton, FL 33431) opened in 2012 and closed in 2013. Miami-based entrepreneur, Enrique Altamirano was the area developer for Yogurtland. He also introduced Yogurtland in Mexico in 2010.
