Creative Froyo Flavors, 2025 Edition

We love the anticipation and curiosity that accompany new froyo flavor launches. And we really love creative froyo flavors. This year’s crop of creative froyo flavors embraces exotic fruits and flavors that go beyond sweet into the realm of bitter, sour, and salty. The ten creative flavors represent seven countries. The US had the most representation, with three creative froyo flavors on our list.

From savory to sweet, and even some unexpected combinations, here are ten of the most creative frozen yogurt flavors that have been introduced within the last year (in alphabetical order by flavor):

Banana, Salted Caramel, & White Miso froyo from FREO, Australia, IG @letsfreo

We had a hard time choosing one creative froyo flavor from FREO, since they have so many of them (e.g., Watermelon & Yuzu). FREO first opened in Sydney, Australia in February 2024 and a year later, there are three shops. The frozen atelier is a premium self-serve froyo, made with 100% Australian pot set yoghurt, and gelato experience. We’ve never seen miso in a froyo flavor before.

Chocolate Acai, Yo Way, Australia, IG @yowayaus

Yo Way, which has 20 self-serve shops in Australia, introduced a new acai range for the summer. Chocolate acai was the flavor of the month in February 2025.  Mango acai and strawberry acai were the other new summer acai flavors.

French Fry froyo, 16 Handles, United States, IG @16handles

The most creative froyo flavor we’ve seen in a long time, 16 Handles created French fry froyo, a sweet and salty flavor that pokes fun at “a big fast-food chain known for their broken ice cream machines.” The bright yellow soft serve was made with real potato french fry pieces.

Honeyed Grapefruit with Bitters froyo, Eb & Bean, United States, IG @ebandbean

Portland, Oregon’s Eb & Bean makes our creative froyo flavors list every year. This year’s Honeyed Grapefruit with Bitters froyo is made with its tart froyo base. It was introduced last March along with another creative flavor, Purple Carrot Cake. We love bitters and haven’t seen them added to froyo before. Last year, Eb & Bean made the creative froyo flavors list with Tamarind Lime non-dairy soft serve.

Mulled Red Wine, Comparte Chocolates, Venezuela, IG @compartechocolates

Comparte Chocolates in Venezuela introduced Mulled Red Wine Greek froyo as one of the Thanksgiving special edition flavors. It’s described as a flavor that “captures the essence of good red wine, with fruity nuances and a refined happy ending full of character.”

Quince sorbet, MYKA Greek Frozen Yogurt, Spain, IG @myka_greek

MYKA Greek Frozen Yogurt, with three branches in Spain, introduced quince sorbet in January 2025. They describe quince sorbet as “sweet and with just the right amount of acidity.” Quince is a hard, yellow fruit that tastes like a mix of apple and pear when cooked.

Soursop froyo, Tutti Frutti, Malaysia, IG @tuttifrutti.my

Soursop is a tropical fruit that’s native to Central and South America. It’s also known as guanabana, paw-paw, sirsak, and graviola. The taste is described as a “mix of other tropical fruit flavors, including mango, strawberry, and pineapple.” Tutti Frutti Malaysia introduced soursop froyo in April 2024, describing it as tangy and tropical.

Spirulina froyo, Zo’Zen, Mexico, IG @zozen.yogurt

We’ve seen spirulina added to froyo before, but not a froyo whose main flavor was spirulina. Zo’Zen’s named spirulina froyo as the flavor of the month of April 2024. Spirulina is a blue-green algae that has protein, vitamins, minerals, and anti-oxidants. It has an earthy flavor. Some say it tastes like the sea.

White Cacao Bliss froyo, Yogen Fruz, Panama, IG @yogenfruzpanama

Introduced by Yogen Fruz Panama in February 2025, White Cacao Bliss froyo is inspired by white cacao fruit. White cacao fruit can be found in the Amazon. It is said to have a buttery, nutty flavor. White cacao is also known as macambo.

Yuzu Meringue froyo, Pinkberry, United States, IG @pinkberryswirl

Yuzu Meringue froyo was Pinkberry’s first new flavor to be introduced in 2025. It combines yuzu, a Japanese citrus fruit, with light, airy meringue. The tart based frozen yogurt is described as having “hints of lemon, lime, and grapefruit.”
