Here’s our monthly roundup of froyo shop openings and closings around the world. We found 23 new froyo shops in 12 countries that opened in November. In October, there were 34 froyo shop openings. Italy led the way in November with the most openings, with three. Llaollao, Europe and Asia’s largest froyo chain, opened three new locations. Interestingly, most of the new shops are counter-serve.

Closings
Feeney’s, 1603 New Garden Rd, Greensboro, NC 27410
Feeney’s was NC’s first self-serve froyo shop. The shop’s final day in Greensboro was November 29. They posted the following message on Instagram, “Dear Loyal Customers, It is with mixed emotions that I am announcing the closing of Feeney’s Frozen Yogurt bar. I have had the privilege of working with an awesome staff over the last twelve years. I applaud them for making Feeney’s the BEST frozen yogurt bar in the triad!! More importantly, I have enjoyed getting to know so many of our loyal customers throughout the years. Thank-you!! The last two years have been difficult for many and unfortunately, it has taken a toll on many small businesses. Despite your loyalty, I can no longer keep Feeney’s operating. So, with a heavy heart, I have decided to close Feeney’s permanently on NOVEMBER 29th at 5pm…Thank you for your business over the years!! It truly has been an incredible ride. I hope that you and your family have a blessed and happy holiday season.”

Menchie’s Taylor Court in Bethlehem, PA has closed. There was no announcement, so we’re not sure when it closed. There were some recent reviews, so we suspect that they closed about a month ago. The shop opened in 2012.

Menchie’s in Chatsworth, CA quietly closed some time in the fall (October or November). The shop first opened in 2009 and changed ownership in 2019.

Nieves De Enero closed their original shop and moved to a new location in Coahuila, Mexico.
Sweet Spot, 336 S Hamilton St, Dalton, GA 30720
The Sweet Spot is moving to a new location. The final day at the current location was November 21.
Yogurt Spot, 6456 Phelan Blvd, Beaumont, TX 77706
On November 2, the owners of The Yogurt Spot in Beaumont, Texas announced that November would be the last month in business. They cited the pandemic, increased costs of labor and supplies, plus the supply shortage as the reasons for closing. They plan to reopen at a new location.
Yogurtland, 1007 Main St #120, Logan, UT 84341
Yogurtland in Logan, Utah’s last day was November 28. The shop opened in 2015. They posted this message on Facebook: “Thanks for all the love and support at our Logan store throughout the years! Unfortunately, we have permanently closed our doors as of 11/28/21. It was a pleasure to serve you!”
