About Forte’s Partnership With Spaceman

In 1995, Mr. Monte Rice, who is currently the President of America’s Classic Foods, LLC and formerly the President of Spaceman International USA, Inc. representing his line of soft serve ice cream at a trade show in Shanghai. While there, he came across the Spaceman Company’s line of products. At that time, Mr. Rice had more than 20 years of experience working with ice cream outlets such as Baskin Robbins as well as several soft serve ice cream groups. When Mr. Rice saw the potential in what Spaceman International had to offer at the Shanghai trade show, Mr. Rice began working as a consultant to Spaceman International,  helping the company develop its products to meet the standards of the United States’ market.

In 2012, Mr. Rice, together  with the owners of Spaceman International – Mr. Dong and his daughter Lingyu Dong – met with Mr. Jeff Resnick, the owner of Forte Supply, at the National Restaurant Association’s trade show in Chicago. During their meeting, they discussed how the two companies could potentially benefit from working with each other.

In 2013, Forte Supply began working with Spaceman Company to manufacture private label equipment used to develop new frozen yogurt and soft serve ice cream machine models that would be marketed in the United States. Later that year, Mr. Resnick visited the Spaceman Company’s corporate office and factory in Shanghai. At this meeting, Mr. Resnick, Mr. Rice, and the rest of the leaders at Spaceman Company decided that Forte Supply should take over the Spaceman USA brand in order to increase sales as well as the brand’s market share. Forte Supply currently has a 20-year contract to sell Spaceman USA products in the United States. Spaceman, LLC is listed under the parent company Forte Supply, LLC.
