Sometimes you have to do a bit of hunting for them but frozen yogurt discounts and promotions are everywhere. Here are some tips to finding savings on your favorite treat:
Deal sites and apps
Groupon, Living Social, Scoutmob, Travelzoo, and Amazon Local froyo deals seemed to less common now but they’re still available. Download the apps or go to their website to sign up for email alerts.
Also check your local area for other deal sites and coupons. Sometimes you’ll find froyo coupons on the back of a grocery store receipt or Valpak. You can search for local froyo deals on the Valpack website. Retail Me Not’s free app shows special offers in your area. AAA members can enjoy dining discounts, including savings at select froyo shops.
Loyalty programs and discount cards
Many froyo shops, large and small, have loyalty programs. Ask for a stamp card if one isn’t offered. Larger chains like Forever Yogurt, Menchie’s, Orange Leaf, Pinkberry, Red Mango, sweetFrog and Yogurtland have loyalty apps. Most of the larger chain loyalty programs offer birthday perks.
There may be additional perks for joining the froyo shop’s email list or for signing up for text messages from the shop.
Pirq, which serves the Seattle area, offers a free app with many froyo deals. Some of the deals are time specific. Also, they’ve integrated with some loyalty programs.
Bobalife covers mainly the San Gabriel Valley (Los Angeles). Cardholders get discounts at local Menchie’s and Yogurtland locations, as well as boba shops and restaurants.
Go Metro in LA and show your TAP card at select Yogurtland locations to get 3 oz free. Metro employees and LA County employees also receive the discount.
Social media
Be sure to follow your favorite frozen yogurt shops on Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and Snapchat. Many shops announce specials on social media.
Check-in deals
Yelp and FourSquare users may earn special perks for checking in at their favorite frozen yogurt shops.
In store specials
Check the signs in your store for happy hour specials, student discounts, senior discounts, military discounts, rainy day specials, National Frozen Yogurt Day promotions, etc. Gift card specials are common in December.
Woody’s Yogurt Place (802 Strawberry Village, Mill Valley, CA) offers 10% off to all police, fire and paramedic personnel on duty or not and 10% for Strawberry Village employees.
Take it to go
Some shops will charge you sales tax if you choose to dine in; in other words, you may get a discount for taking your froyo to go in some states.
