Summer is here and now is the time to do a quick check to be sure that your technology will be able to support your business during the most popular months for frozen yogurt sales. Customers are more tech savvy than ever before and you can give them a satisfying experience by ensuring that your technology is on point. We have a few easy things you can do to be sure you’re providing awesome service all summer long.

  1. Update your online menu daily. Yep, every day. Believe it or not, your most loyal customers are checking to see if you will have their favorite flavors before they stop in. When all that’s involved in seeing what flavors are on the menu that day are a few clicks on their mobile phones, you can bet customers check you out online before coming in. 81% of shoppers will do online research before buying. That’s too large of a number to ignore. So even if you do smaller batches of flavors, providing whatever details you can about what you are offering that season / day / week can significantly help you out when potential customers take a quick peek at your website.
  2. Engage with your customers on Social Media. Like keeping your website and online menu current, social media is a great way to connect with customers and let them know that you are offering new things for summer. A summer coupon that you do a quick blast for on Twitter, Facebook, or Instagram for will remind your customers to stop in. People love fun, colorful pictures of food on Instagram and it’s super easy to post pics of cool toppings and fro-yo flavors on that platform. You can then Tweet your pic from there. Done and done! Another easy discount that will encourage repeat visits is to offer a 10% discount to any of your customers who follow you on Instagram. It’s an easy way to continually engage with customers and to thank them for their loyalty.
  3. Keep your checkout lines moving quickly. Frozen yogurt melts. We’ve all stood in line at our favorite fro-yo shop with our flavors all swirled up, topped, and ready to go only to stand in line for another five minutes waiting for the people in front of us to weigh their yogurt, use their loyalty cards, then pay. If you have staff who has had to step away from your cash wrap even for a minute or two, it can majorly slow things down. And if potential customers see a back up, then they often won’t bother. Make sure your Point-of-Sale system is up to date, secure, and offers a rewards program that can be done swiftly. Punch or stamp cards are great loyalty options, but newer POS systems allow you to utilize a rewards card that you simply swipe and add points to just by tapping a button on the screen.

These tips are sure to help your frozen yogurt shop increase sales and deliver awesome customer service during the busy, hot months to come. Increasing traffic and getting new customers shouldn’t be tough if they know where to find you, about the fresh flavors on your menu, and have a positive, quick experience in-store.
