America has spoken and the favorite Orange Leaf Frozen Yogurt flavor in 2014 was Salted Caramel. As part of the 2014 “Year of Flavor” campaign, Orange Leaf introduced 12 new flavors. To find out which flavors were fan favorites, Orange Leaf polled consumers on Facebook.
The Facebook poll of more than 500 consumers revealed that from a list of 12 froyo or smoothie flavors, Salted Caramel was the overall favorite, followed by York Peppermint Pattie and Pistachio.
The flavor options included in the poll were Salted Caramel, Chocolate made with Ghirardelli, Pistachio, Banana, Pink Lemonade, Blackberry Greek, Pineapple Strawberry Banana Smoothie, Peanut Butter Banana Smoothie, Frozen Strawberry Lemonade Smoothie, Cinnamon Roll, Pumpkin Spice Latte and York Peppermint Pattie. The list was comprised of the 12 flavors Orange Leaf introduced in 2014 as part of its “Year of the Flavor” campaign.
Results by Region
Orange Leaf crunched the numbers by region and found that the Wild, Wild West was the only region that bucked the trend and selected York Peppermint Pattie as their favorite flavor. Salted Caramel was tops in all other regions with York Peppermint Patty or Pistachio taking the second place spots.
Midwest:
1st: Salted Caramel with 23%
2nd: York with 16%
3rd: Pistachio with 15%
Northeast:
1st: Salted Caramel with 21%
Tied for 2nd: York and Pistachio tied at 16%
South:
1st: Salted Caramel with 21%
2nd: Pistachio with 14%
Tied for 3rd: Banana and York
West:
1st: York with 29%
2nd: Salted Caramel with 24%
3rd: Ghirardelli Chocolate with 18%
Results by Age Group
The breakout by age range follows:
- 13-17: Pistachio
- 18-24: York Peppermint Pattie
- 25-54: Salted Caramel
- 55-64: York Peppermint Pattie
- 65+: Salted Caramel
Favorite Smoothie Flavor
The Pineapple Strawberry Banana Smoothie ranked the highest with voters among the three Orange Leaf Smoothie flavors.
