International/National Frozen Yogurt Day 2017

The BEST day of the year is just a few days away: National/International Frozen Yogurt Day on February 6. This year it falls on a Monday. 

It’s the day to show your appreciation for frozen yogurt by eating froyo and sharing your love of froyo with others around the world.

Frozen Yogurt is an International Phenomenon

Frozen yogurt is everywhere. It seems silly to continue to call frozen yogurt day, National Frozen Yogurt Day. Instead, we should call it International Frozen Yogurt Day.

Let’s consider how international frozen yogurt has become. First, Red Mango, the chain that popularized tart frozen yogurt in Korea, started in Korea and expanded to many other countries. Second, Pinkberry now has more international than domestic locations. Third, Yogurtland recently opened its first location in Singapore. You can also find Yogurtland in Australia, Guam, Thailand, UAE, and Venezuela. Fourth, Menchie’s international locations can be found in Bahrain, China, India, Japan, Puerto Rico, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, UAE and UK. Yogen Fruz, Tutti Frutti, Yogorino, and Llaollao are truly global frozen yogurt chains.

The IFYA currently has members from 99 countries and we’re hoping to get to over 100 by the end of the year. We have members in Croatia, Czech Republic, Ecuador, Nigeria, Peru, etc. Our membership reflects the global popularity of frozen yogurt.
