The International Frozen Yogurt Association (IFYA) is proud to welcome its newest member, Golden Spoon Frozen Yogurt of Irvine, CA, to the Swirl of HonorTM program. Golden Spoon Irvine earned three swirls, the maximum possible number of swirls, based on frozen yogurt quality, store cleanliness, superior customer service, and environmentally friendly business practices.
The Swirl of HonorTM Program was launched by the IFYA in late 2013 to recognize excellence in frozen yogurt. It is the first and only quality seal program specifically for frozen yogurt stores. Recipients receive one to three Swirls (1 = good, 2 = very good, 3 = excellent) based on how they meet IFYA standards.
“Golden Spoon is well known for its long-standing commitment to quality, taste, and health. They were part of the first wave of frozen yogurt in California. They’re still here because they’ve cultivated a loyal customer base. I’m also impressed with their swirling skills. Each cup of froyo looks like a masterpiece,” said Susan Linton, IFYA President. “Our association is honored to welcome the Irvine shop to our program.”

Golden Spoon started in 1981 as an outgrowth of a Tustin health food store called “Yogurt and Things.” Golden Spoon founder Jeff Barnes dropped the “Things” and focused on frozen yogurt.
