A Review of Froyo Game Apps

Which froyo game apps are worthy of downloading and playing? We checked out frozen yogurt game apps and rated each. Our favorite froyo game app was Menchie’s Smile World. We loved the story behind the app, the variety of games, and the quality of the graphics.

smileworld

Menchie’s Smile World

Price: Free

Menchie’s Smile World app launched in May 2013 and it has four different froyo games. Your mission is to help the Menchie and his Sweet Friends bring smiles to a town without a Menchie’s. Menchie’s Store is the easiest game. You’re shown two pictures which look the same at a glance but actually have a few subtle differences. Your task is to find the differences. Toppings Garden is the fruit version of Sudoku. Moo-tastic dairy asks for your help to guide the Menchie’s truck out of the parking lot. There are other trucks in the way and they can only be moved in certain ways. In Yogurt Lab, you need to move the orientation of the pipe segments so that the froyo can flow out of the pipes and into the awaiting Menchie’s cup. Tip: You don’t need to use all the pipe segments. This is the best froyo game that we’ve come across. We like that there are four different games with 8 different levels per game and the design is adorable. Rating: 5 out of 5 stars

makefroyo

Make Froyo! – Free

Price: Free

When you can’t get to a froyo store and have the urge to build a cup of froyo, this game simulates the wonderful feeling of building a cup of froyo. You choose the cup (size and design), add froyo (each swirl can be a different flavor), add toppings, and weigh it. After weighing, you can pick a spoon and eat it. You can save your froyo to a gallery or share it via Twitter, email, Facebook, and Instagram. It’s a fun game that allows you to be creative and it appeals to all ages. They keep adding new froyo flavors, cup designs, toppings, and spoons though many are locked (and must be purchased). Seasonal cups, toppings and spoons are a nice touch and we enjoy the creativity of some flavors like durian, sesame, tofu and sour plum. Some of the toppings don’t make sense (peace symbol, Santa, Xmas tree ornaments, pumpkins, ghosts). If you like Tuttimelon, you’ll be happy to see Tuttimelon cups and spoons. sweetfrog app

SweetFrog

Price: Free

The SweetFrog app is much more than a game. It has coupons, a loyalty program and news. The games let you earn real froyo rewards!  There are two games: River Rush and Dino Dash. The games are similar (your goal is to help Scoop & Cookie collect toppings while avoiding obstacles) but in different settings (the jungle vs. the land of dinosaurs). The games are easy but fun and cute. Rating: 4 out of 5 stars

froyo party

Froyo Party!

Price: Free

From the makers of Make Froyo! comes the social version where you make your own froyo and share it on Froyo Social to get likes. It’s similar to Make Froyo! but the interface looks different. In some cases there are fewer options (e.g., fewer cup designs) but it does have a few features that Make Froyo! doesn’t: (1) you can adjust the rotation and size of some toppings, (2) you can add a flag (imagine a flag on a toothpick) to your creation, (3) you can change the image background. Make Froyo! has more options. Rating: 3.75 out of 5 stars

amys froyo 2

Amy’s Froyo 2

Price: Free

With Amy’s Froyo 2, you can make your own virtual cup of froyo and share it with friends. You choose the size, cup design, froyo flavor(s), toppings and a spoon. When you’re done, you can eat your creation. Most of the options are locked (must be purchased to use). It’s very much like Make Froyo! but with fewer options (e.g., fewer cup designs, fewer spoons). It’s easy to use but the lack of options makes it feel quite limited. Rating: 3.5 out of 5 stars

wicked spoon

Wicked Spoon Yogurt

Price: Free

The goal of the Yogurt Toss game is simple: get the froyo from the spoon into the cup. There are three levels and each one is timed. The first one is easiest – with the largest cup and no wind. As you progress, the cup gets smaller and the wind (which changes direction), changes the trajectory of your froyo. It’s not easy. You use your finger to project the froyo into the cup. It can’t be too high (or too low). It might not be easy to get the froyo in the cup but the game is easy to play and good for all ages. It doesn’t offer enough variety to keep one’s interest and it hasn’t been updated since 2010. Rating: 3 out of 5 stars

iTopit

Price: Free

iTopIt claims to match your mood to the toppings you should put on your froyo or ice cream, based on an algorithm of moods and toppings put together by a panel of expert psychologists. You specify how many toppings you’d like. You can eliminate toppings that you don’t like or are allergic to from the toppings list. The toppings list is pretty extensive with fresh fruit, syrups, candy, cookies, nuts, cereal, sprinkles, etc. They remembered the mochi. Answer three questions and receive your toppings recommendation. The questions apparently gauge your mood. We didn’t like the toppings recommendations we received though we answered the questions honestly. Are mood and taste preferences related enough that three simple questions can lead to an accurate recommendation? We’re skeptical. Rating: 2 out of 5 stars
