The soul of Tierrasanta, San Diego is a connection to nature and community that draws families to its quiet neighborhoods. Small eateries have always trumped the big name chains around town, and now the area has a new, independently-owned frozen yogurt shop in its midst.
Heavenly Frozen Yogurt opened its doors in October 2015 and delighted area residents with its fresh treats, vegan options and an unexpected touch of rustic charm. While other yogurt shops go ultra-modern, Heavenly opted for a contemporary yogurt shop design that summons images of green pastures, cheerful cows and country skies.
Inspired by their location at the heart of Tierrasanta, Heavenly approached interior designer Mindful Design Consulting for help crafting an atmosphere that would draw the local community together. They chose a classic country palette of white and robin’s egg blue as their springboard and grounded it with earth tones for an added kiss of nature.
Natural light pours in from the shop’s ample windows and bounces off the shining, ceramic wall tiles and stained concrete floor making the space feel open and accessible. Sturdy barn doors, chalk paint and old milk containers round out the barn-and-creamery feel. Bench seating and little details like a console table finish things off with a homey touch.
Heavenly’s frozen yogurt shop design is the latest in a long line of success stories for Mindful Design Consulting. While their designs can be found around the world, they also served as the interior designer for My Yogurt and Alpine Chill in the San Diego area.
Local residents craving a tart treat can hop off I-15 and find Heavenly Frozen Yogurt right on Tierrasanta Boulevard. The shop is already a local hit, and anyone that drops by to see what the fuss is about will fall in love with its clean, inviting atmosphere.
