Chloe’s Soft Serve Fruit Co. Offers a Non-Dairy, Vegan, Fruit Soft Serve Alternative to Frozen Yogurt

chloes-logoThe IFYA recently sat down and talked to Chloe Epstein, President and co-founder of Chloe’s Soft Serve Fruit Co™. Chloe, a former Assistant District Attorney in Manhattan and a froyo addict with a sweet tooth, wanted to find a healthier, cleaner alternative to frozen yogurt and ice cream, something she could feel good about eating and giving to her kids. She and her partner, Michael Sloan, an avid triathlete, started playing around in the kitchen with fruit and water, and this eventually led to the creation of “soft serve fruit.”

chloessundaeChloe’s Soft Serve Fruit is made with just three ingredients: real fruit, filtered water and a touch of organic sugar. The flavors are intense and natural and the texture is creamy. Soft serve fruit is good for you, all natural, delicious, vegan, gluten free, dairy free, kosher, pareve , and nonfat.

Chloe’s Soft Serve Fruit Mix is a hit at shops like Yo-Nutz (Sunrise, Florida), FlavorBerry (Houston, Texas), Yo-Fresh (multiple PA locations), Vanilla Sky (Forest Hills, NY), and D’Lites Emporium (St. Petersburg, FL).

Overview of Chloe’s Soft Serve Fruit Co.

Chloe and her partners opened their first location in NYC in 2010 and entered the wholesale market in 2012. The two wholesale products are Chloe’s Soft Serve Fruit Mix (available in 14  seasonal varieties, including apple, banana, blueberry, dark chocolate, plum, pumpkin, tangerine) and Soft Serve Fruit Pops. Chloe’s Soft Serve Fruit Mix is meant to be dispensed from a soft serve machine.

Today the company is poised for the national launch of the 4 pack of Chloe’s Soft Serve Fruit Pops and is a growing presence in frozen yogurt stores and foodservice establishments that want to offer a healthier, delicious, dairy free alternative to frozen yogurt.

How Chloe’s Soft Serve Fruit Mix Differs from Sorbets and Other Non-Dairy Offerings

While there are other fruit popsicles and sorbets, Chloe’s is the only one with three ingredients. The higher fruit content and lower sugar content make it taste fresher, more vibrant and naturally delicious. There are no preservatives or additives, unlike the other products in the market. It’s a simple product that tastes just like natural fruit served in a fun, more convenient form.

Expansion into Frozen Yogurt Stores and Foodservice

Once the retail shop opened in 2010, Chloe’s received interest from many geographically dispersed locations. They decided to build their wholesale business to meet the rising demand for soft serve fruit.

Chloe believes in healthy eating and her goal has always been to make soft serve fruit available to schools and hospitals. Soft serve fruit is a popular item at amusement parks, zoos, grocery stores, restaurants, and corporate cafeterias.

For frozen yogurt stores, Chloe’s Soft Serve Fruit Mix offers a unique, high quality, great tasting, healthy upgrade to existing non-dairy alternatives. Shops that carry Chloe’s can appeal to health conscious consumers and differentiate themselves from other frozen yogurt shops.

Carrying Chloe’s Soft Serve Fruit Mix is easy since it can be served out of most soft serve machines. Chloe’s Soft Serve Fruit Mix can also be served as a smoothie, super food bowl, parfait or as a waffle topping. Chloe’s is eager to grow and will help drive business to shops that carry its brand. They utilize social media (Instagram, FB, etc.), brand ambassadors, events, and samplings to help promote frozen yogurt partner shops. Chloe’s also works with shops to ensure that the machines are calibrated so that the product has the optimal creamy consistency.

Future of Chloe’s Soft Serve Fruit Co.

Chloe’s Soft Serve Fruit Co. is preparing for the national launch of their 4 pack of Soft Serve Fruit Pops this spring. The pops are currently available in Strawberry, Mango and Raspberry varieties. Pineapple and Dark Chocolate will join the lineup this spring. The 4 pack of pops are available at HEB locations in Texas. After the launch they’ll be available at HEB, Kroger, Erehwon Natural Foods, and other markets.

They’re also expanding their presence in foodservice, with the goal of being the healthier, tastier non-dairy alternative for frozen yogurt stores and other foodservice establishments.
