We’re proud to welcome our newest member, Arctic Ape Wild Desserts of Windcrest, TX, to the IFYA Swirl of HonorTM program. Arctic Ape earned the highest honor, three swirls, based on frozen yogurt quality, store cleanliness, superior customer service, and environmentally friendly business practices.
The Swirl of HonorTM program was launched by the IFYA in late 2013 to recognize excellence in frozen yogurt. It is the first and only quality seal program specifically for frozen yogurt stores. Recipients receive one to three Swirls (1 = good, 2 = very good, 3 = excellent) based on how they meet IFYA’s stringent quality standards.
“We’ve seen a lot of frozen yogurt shops and Arctic Ape stands out because of its unique theme and wide variety of desserts and toppings,” said Susan Linton, IFYA President. “They have a full size ape at the shop (the Arctic Ape) who dons different outfits. There’s an origin story that explains how the Arctic Ape’s love of frozen desserts led to the opening of the Arctic Ape Wild Desserts shop. I’m sure he approves of how the shop supports San Antonio’s own Primarily Primates sanctuary. The number of frozen dessert options and toppings allows for endless combinations, including options for those with dietary restrictions.”
